Mosahöfn

In a spurt of travel-inspired passion projects, Mosahöfn was created, meaning Moss Harbor in Icelandic. Visiting Iceland has always been my dream, so I imagined a quiet fishing lodge in Borgarfjörður Eystri, a magical place with fewer than 100 residents, where puffins are abundant and elves are believed in.

The typography for this project is sturdy yet refined; a visual language that could weather a strong winter wind. The color palette draws from the deep teals of the icy fjords, vibrant puffin beaks, and the dark basalt that forms the foundation of this beautiful corner of the world. The patterns capture the essence of Icelandic fishing: a geometric fish with a mountain-like dorsal fin, sharp angled hooks, and soft, flowing waves inspired by the Northern Lights. Mosahöfn was created as a retreat for visitors to find serenity in nature and community through angling.
